The KHL playoffs, also known as the Gagarin Cup, got underway this week. We’ve shown you some crazy things that have already happened over the past two days, including wild brawls, multiple overtimes, and now we can add a new record to that list.

On Wednesday, Traktor got smoked 5-2 by Barys in Game 1 of their series, but got some sort of positivity out of their loss. In the defeat, 17-year-old Vitali Kravtsov buried a goal to get his team on the board and it ended up being a special moment in KHL history.

Kravtsov not only set the new record, but shattered the previous record set by Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov by 238 days, nearly a full year.

Kravtsov still has one more year to go before he’s eligible for the NHL Entry Draft, but we’re guessing he will hear his name called at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
