Who would have thought that nearly halfway through a season in which Sidney Crosby is tearing up the league and Connor McDavid is doing the same that the biggest story thus far would be the Columbus Blue Jackets.

After a slow start to the season, some people were calling for John Tortorella to be fired.  How ludicrous does that sound now?

The Blue Jackets enter 2017 on a 15-game winning streak which is tied for the second longest streak in NHL history.  Entering play Sunday, they sit atop the standings with a league-best 56 points.

Those two stats alone are ridiculous, but we've got four more about the Jackets and their win streak that are going to really blow your mind.  Enjoy!

We all know the Blue Jackets are on a 15-game winning streak, but what you probably don't know is that they have more victories during their streak than four teams have wins this entire season.

Those four teams are the Arizona Coyotes (11 wins), the Colorado Avalanche (12 wins), the Buffalo Sabres (13 wins), and the New Jersey Devils (14 wins).

A big reason for Columbus' incredible season is their depth.  Everyone is contributing, and nothing illustrates that fact more than this, they have four players in the top 20 in total points this season.

The Jackets are the only team with four players in the top 20 (Cam Atkinson, Alexander Wennberg, Brandon Saad, Nick Foligno).

The Odds Are Forever In Their Favour

On December 5th, according to Hockey Reference, the Blue Jackets had an 11.6% chance of winning the Cup, and at the time it seemed a little crazy.

Now, though, those odds have increased significantly.

The Blue Jackets won 18 games at home last season and 16 games on the road.

Although they've won 26 games already this season, the've been just as good on the road as they have been at home with 14 victories at Nationwide Arena and 12 away from home.
