For the second season in a row, the St. Louis Blues traded a fan favourite to the Washington Capitals.

In the summer of 2015, it was T.J. Oshie being dealt to D.C., and the deal brought this young fan to tears.

This season, St. Louis traded Kevin Shattenkirk to Washington ahead of the deadline, and the deal made this 4-year-old Blues fan Kinley cry her eyes out when she found out about the deal.

Immediately, the heartbreaking video went viral, and on Thursday night, Kinley's dad Dennis was interviewed about his daughter.

As per Russian Machine Never Breaks, Kinley has a special relationship with Shattenkirk as she met him at Steve Ott's son's birthday party last year.

According to her dad, she fell in love with him because of his last name:

“I remember the first time she heard the name Shattenkirk. After that, he instantly became her favorite,” Dennis said. “Pucks, pictures, yelling for him at games. Everything.”

We hope Shattenkirk sees the video and reaches out to Kinley just like Oshie did with the fan who was heartbroken when he was traded.
