If there's one video that sums up the Montreal Canadiens' season thus far, it's this one from their game Friday night against the Ducks:

The Habs lost 6-2 to the Ducks and it was their seventh straight loss.  Montreal has a 1-6-1 record through eight games this season, a far cry from their 13-1-1 start from a year ago.

As you can imagine, there are a bunch of not so fun stats that have come from Montreal's rough start, and we wanted to highlight a few of them before things get better (which we think will happen) or things somehow get worse:

Quality Over Quantity

Friday night, this stat was on full display as Montreal fired 51 shots at John Gibson, but only scored two goals.

Last and Last

The Canadiens have actually only scored 12 goals this season, but the fact remains they've given up the most goals and scored the fewest in the NHL so far this season.

Last season, Colorado finished last in both categories and we're not sure how fans would react if Montreal ends up doing the same this season.

What a Difference a Year Makes

Through 8 games last season, the Canadiens didn't have a regulation loss.  Through 8 games this season, Montreal has just one regulation win.

Seller's Remorse?

Jonathan Drouin leads the Habs with five points.  The player he was traded for, Mikhail Sergachev, has six points so far in his rookie season.

Furthermore, Sven Andrighetto, another player Montreal traded away earlier in 2017, has more points than Drouin (6) and David Desharnais (who the Habs traded away in February) has the same number of points.

Scoring Slump

Before Friday night's game, Ovechkin had the same number of goals as the Canadiens had as a team.  Now he's two goals behind them, but would anyone be surprised if he caught up?
