They don’t make many hockey players like Jarome Iginla anymore.

On Wednesday night, Iginla recorded his 11th career Gordie Howe Hat Trick with a goal, assist and a fight in a win over the Calgary Flames.

Iginla’s 11 Gordie Howe Hat Tricks makes him the active leader in the category, and is one of just nine players in NHL history to record 10 or more of them. Here are the other 8 players who got it done in every way on the ice.

Rick Tocchet

Rick Tocchet will most likely go down as the all-time leader in this category with the way the game is changing. Tocchet finished with 18 career Gordie Howe Hat Tricks during his career and has a nice cushion on Iginla.

Brendan Shanahan

Brendan Shanahan has done a great job so far as a member of the Maple Leafs’ front office, and it’s no surprise considering he got it done in every way during his playing days. Shanahan finished one shy of the NHL record with 17 career Gordie Howe Hat Tricks.

Brian Sutter

Brian Sutter was the original record holder in this category, until he was passed by Tocchet and tied by Shanahan. Now, Sutter sits tied for second all-time with Shanahan at 17 career Gordie Howe Hat Tricks.

Wilf Paiement’s scoring totals were all over the place during his playing days, but his penalty minutes were always consistent. In 946 career games, Paiement finished with 814 points, 1,757 penalty minutes and finished with 16 career Gordie Howe Hat Tricks.

Cam Neely

It’s no surprise that Cam Neely is on this list. Known as the bully Seabass in Dumb & Dumber, Neely pretty much had the same character on the ice. He could get it done offensively, but could also put you in your place in a matter of seconds. Neely finished his career with 12 Gordie Howe Hat Tricks and is most likely the only player on the list that Iginla can still pass before he retires.

Keith Tkachuk

Jarome Iginla entered Wednesday night’s game against the Calgary Flames tied with Keith Tkachuk at 10 Gordie Howe Hat Tricks. However, in a game against Tkachuk’s son, Iginla passed him on the all-time list.

Gerard Gallant

Just like Wilf Paiement, you never knew what to expect out of Gerard Gallant’s scoring totals, but you always knew he would provide the rough stuff. He finished with 1,674 penalty minutes in 615 games, with his season-high coming in 1989-90 with 254 penalty minutes. Gallant just reached the double digit mark with 10 Gordie Howe Hat Tricks.

Al Secord

Last but not least on the list is Al Secord. Secord was a penalty minutes machine, finishing his career with 2,093 minutes in 766 games. He just made the list as he finished with 10 career Gordie Howe Hat Tricks.

Surprisingly, Gordie Howe only finished with two career Gordie Howe Hat Tricks in his career, but it doesn’t matter because the name will never change.
