Earlier this year, the Royal Canadian Mint revealed they’ll be releasing a special loonie to commemorate the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 100th anniversary.
While no designs were released at the time of the announcement, the commemorative Maple Leafs loonie is now available for purchase on the Royal Canadian Mint’s website.
The Royal Canadian Mint is currently offering five $1 coins for $5 CAD, plus shipping and handling, as well as 25 $1 coins in a special coin wrap for $54.95 CAD, plus shipping and handling.
The special edition loonie is not the only Maple Leafs coin they're offering. You can also purchase a 100th anniversary pure silver coin for $34.95 CAD, plus shipping and handling, or a 1 oz. pure silver coin for $119.95 CAD.
Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find one of the loonies in your change in the near future.
