The PGA Tour is in New York this weekend for THE NORTHERN TRUST taking place at the Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury, New York, and some of the golfers got the chance to take part in things they donโ€™t normally do ahead of the tournament.

On Tuesday, Rory McIlroy got the week started by firing some golf balls into the outfield inside Yankee Stadium.

On Wednesday, the fun continued around town as Canadian Adam Hadwin, Jonas Blixt and David Lingmerth got to hit the ice with members of the New York Islanders.

New York Islanders defenceman Thomas Hickey and right winger Cal Clutterbuck were two of the players who joined the professional golfers on the ice for their training session and showed them a thing or two about the game.

The guys got the full practice experience while they were on the ice with the Islanders and it looked like a ton of fun.

Despite having a blast before the tournament got underway, the actual tournament itself wasnโ€™t too kind to two of the three golfers who practiced with the Islanders. Adam Hadwin and Jonas Blixt failed to make the second cut, but David Lingmerth is still in the running as he sits four shots back of the lead heading into Saturdayโ€™s action.
