Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones has had quite the MLB career so far. Since making the move to Baltimore in 2008, Jones has been named to the All-Star team five times, won four Gold Glove Awards and one Silver Slugger Award. Now, the 31-year-old San Diego, California native can add off-ice official to his resume.

On Friday, the Anaheim Ducks’ AHL affiliate San Diego Gulls hired Jones as an off-ice official for Friday night’s game against the San Jose Barracuda.

Jones was born and raised in San Diego, so this is a pretty cool opportunity for the All-Star outfielder. Here’s what Jones had to say in a release on the Gulls’ website.

“I’m living out my dream joining the San Diego Gulls to be an off-ice official and serve as a penalty box attendant.”

Jones is an avid hockey fan and is a season ticket holder of his hometown Gulls. He will serve as a penalty box attendant on Friday night, and will be responsible of keeping track and recording all penalties, open and close the penalty box doors, and  provide the officials with game pucks when necessary.
