Unfortunately for NFL running backs, their career span in the league is very short due to injuries and the toll playing the position takes on your body after a long period of time.

Arian Foster knows all about that as the 30-year-old retired in 2016 after attempting a comeback with the Dolphins.

At one point in his career (2010-2014), though, Foster was one of, if not the best running back in the NFL.

Although he's not in the NFL, the four-time Pro Bowler made headlines Sunday by sparking an internet debate with these tweets:

(Warning, some tweets have NSFW language)

Seems like a pretty outlandish claim, right?  The internet seemed to agree, but Foster made some great counterpoints.

We're somewhat Foster could probably come out on top against a wolf due to his self-belief alone.

If you're not convinced, though, Foster's got more for you.

The thumb thing is big for Foster, and it's one of the main reasons he thinks he can come out on top against a wolf.

At one point, the wolf debate got so big Foster was forced to acknowledge that fact.

It got even bigger Tuesday as Joe Rogan joined the fun.

Safe to say Foster is convinced he could get a wolf 1 on 1, and although it's totally fair to doubt him, we won't.

The man wasn't supposed to make it in the NFL as he went undrafted, but he proved everyone wrong then and he's got the self belief that he can prove everyone wrong when it comes to wolves.
