Nothing says you've made it to an athlete quite like having a rap song created in their name.

Auston Matthews may only be in his rookie season, but as soon as the first overall selection touched down in Toronto, he essentially became royalty to Leafs Nation. The fact that Matthews has performed well in his first season meant that it was only a matter of time until his name popped up on a hip-hop track.

Inspired by Matthews's four goal debut against the Senators, Ottawa based artists, SVDVM, Xuave, and Black Iri$h dropped a trap infused track that substitutes the Leafs forward's name as a synonym for greatness. The song originally came out last year in November, but this week the official music video directed by Samuel X dropped this past week. Due to some of the language on the track we can't show you the full music video (which you can watch here), but here's a snippet of the chorus.

Good luck getting that out of your head for the day. In case you still aren't quite sensing the vibe to the song, allow this assortment of GIFs to get you hyped on the track.

Not since Lil' Yachty's "Minnesota" have we seen a hockey rink make for such a great backdrop for a music video. If you're wondering what Auston Matthews himself thought of the song, it looks like he liked it. Literally on Instagram.

You just know that this song will be played in the Maple Leafs dressing room throughout the rest of the season.
