After failing to reach the 70-point mark the past two seasons, not many people expected much from the Toronto Maple Leafs this season. Most fans expected another long and miserable year of the rebuild, but all the youngsters stepped up and made it a season to remember.

Auston Matthews was one of the main reasons for the team’s unexpected success this season, as the 19-year-old set franchise records by scoring 40 goals and finishing with 69 points in 82 games.

On Tuesday, the 2016 first overall pick decided to get a tattoo done by Bubba Irwin at Old Town Ink in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Even though it’s the offseason for Matthews and he's back home in Arizona, he was still in the public eye as his awesome fresh ink ended up making its way around online. Hockey fans, including Los Angeles Kings mascot Bailey, gave some hilarious input on what the tattoo might represent.

The last answer seems the most reasonable, as Matthews spent a season with the ZSC Lions before he was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

One thing’s for sure, it’s definitely not a portrait of Bailey.
