For the first time in Isaiah Thomas' career he's actually getting the attention he deserves.

A second round pick in 2011, Thomas has finally found a home in Boston, and he's flourished while proving everyone who ever doubted him wrong.

Thanks to Thomas, the Celtics finished the season as the best team in the East and Sunday they opened up the playoffs against the Bulls.

Saturday, though, tragedy struck as Thomas' 22-year-old sister was killed in a car crash.

Now, anyone would understand if Thomas didn't play in Game 1, but the Celtics star did play, and before the game he shared a very emotional moment with teammate Avery Bradley during shootaround.

We don't know how Thomas is playing and can't imagine what he's going through right now, but hopefully just being around his teammates that love him is helping him out in such a tragic time.

As Thomas took the court, fans watching noticed a touching message he wrote on his shoes in honour of his sister.
