Rougned Odor didn’t endear himself to Blue Jays fans last year when he punched Jose Bautista in the face.

The tension between the Blue Jays and Rangers dated back all the way to Bautista’s bat flip in 2015, and after Bautista slid into second hard, Odor socked him. At the time, several people pointed out Odor’s bat flips in the past and a similar punching incident in minors, but yesterday was the icing on the cake for Blue Jays fans.

In the top of the ninth, with Venezula tied 2-2 with Italy, Odor hit a ball deep near the wall and basically whipped his bat at the ground. Unfortunately for him, the ball hit the top of the wall and he only ended up making it to first.

Of course, considering his team’s reaction to Bautista’s bat flip, and his actions last year, Blue Jays fans were quite to laugh at his shortcomings.

One thing to remember here is that he didn’t think he was bat flipping on a single, he thought it was a home run. We’re not mad, we love every bat flip ever. However, as Jake Arrieta pointed out, he might wear one on the ribs for that someday.
