Halloween isn’t just a time for NHL players to show off their creative costumes and have an excuse to party roughly just under a month into the season.

It’s also a time for NHL teams to engage with the community and help bring happiness to children by allowing them to see their favourite players dressed up in some of their favourite super heros or movie characters.

Oh what could have been... 😂😂

The Boston Bruins have developed an annual tradition with the Boston Children’s Hospital where players from the team visit kids while dressed up in outfits.

Last year, Zdeno Chara keept up the spooky theme of Halloween by dressing in a pink bunny costume that probably brought more nightmares than good will to the children.

The team had a topical theme for this year’s visit: Star Wars. “The Last Jedi” will be released in theaters across Canada on December 15.

That’s David Krejci as Luke Skywalker, Ryan Spooner as Princess Leia holding a lightsaber (which never occurred in the movie by the way), and Jake DeBrusk dressed up in Han Solo.

DeBrusk, or Han Solo is using a light saber as if it was a gun., Solo doens't even use a lighsaber to begin with. We're wondering who he stole it from.

Despite the costumes not accurately representing the popular film series' characters, good on the Bruins for bringing some fun into the lives of these children and helping temporarily putting their minds at ease.
