Just this morning, we were talking about Brad Marchand and how his Twitter game has caught fire lately. Since the beginning of the season, he’s been ranking himself among the best NHL twitter accounts around.

So far, he’s mainly focused on self-deprecation, but now he’s pumping out some hot takes.

With McDavid currently being the talk of the hockey world (That assist last night was ridiculous), we’re not really sure what sparked this tweet, but Marchand clearly thinks that Auston Matthews is no longer fair.

What has made the Maple Leafs so impressive to start this season hasn’t just been Matthews. He’s come through in big moments for the team, but it’s the combination of all their young guys. The Leafs have some impressive depth that have allowed even allowed them to put someone like Mitch Marner on the fourth line last game.

Clearly you wouldn’t expect him to stay there long, but it’s helpful that other players don’t have trouble stepping into that role.

And while Marchand is busy Tweeting about the Maple Leafs, we’re sure he hasn’t forgotten the amount of talent still on his roster. David Pastnak is brilliant on a nightly basis and Charlie McAvoy should be an interesting player to watch as the season goes on.
