Emergency goalies aren't often needed by NHL teams, but when they are, it makes for some pretty incredible television to say the least.

For an emergency goalie, we imagine there's no thrill quite like being a backup goalie for one night or getting the opportunity to even step on the ice and wear a team's jersey for warmups.

As many fans know, teams also have emergency practice goalies, and the Bruins' emergency practice goalie made headlines Wednesday for an unfortunate reason.

Taking a slap shot below the belt from any NHL player is rough, but Zdeno Chara doesn't possess an average clapper.

The man won the hardest shot competition five years in a row.

Keith Segee, the emergency practice goalie who is also a Mass State Trooper, commented on what it was like getting hit in the groin by a Chara shot, as per CSNE:

“He’s got the hardest shot of anybody I’ve ever seen,” said Segee, with a smile. “I had to take two or three laps around the rink after that one and skate it off.”

Whether he likes it or not, Keith will always be famous for this moment, which we imagine is pretty cool nonetheless.
