Regardless of what position you play in baseball, everyone in the field has to have the ability to read and react instantly.

This fact applies for pitchers as well as they have such little time to react to a comebacker just to get out of the way of it, let alone make a play on the ball.

When a pitcher does make a play on a comebacker, however, it's usually incredible, and that was the case Tuesday night.

In a game against Columbus, Buffalo Bisons pitcher Matt Dermody made a ridiculous between-the-legs grab on a comebacker that is a catch of the year contender.

Grab of the year? 👀 #SCtop10

Now that's how you flash the leather.

Dermody, who's in the Blue Jays system, is 5-1 with the Bisons this year and has made one appearance with the big club this season.

Although his one appearance for the Jays was a bit of a disaster (0.1 innings pitched, five earned runs), the catch he made was anything but that.
