This right here is a veteran move.

Spring Training for veteran players is pretty much baseball's version of having a substitute teacher on a Friday. Some people don't fully show up, and the ones that do aren't always firing on all cylinders. Thursday, New York Mets infielder Asdrubal Cabrera was in peak Spring Training mode, deciding that it was a better to quit and run back to the dugout during a rundown than continue running. You know...to conserve energy.

You know what, we may take some flack here...but was he really wrong to do that? Sure, he could've kept on running and perhaps he may have even beat the infielders out and ended up safe on a base. But much like Whose Line is it Anyways, the game doesn't count and the points are made up, so maybe we should applaud his risk averse strategy?
