James Conner, a former University of Pittsburgh running back, managed to defeat cancer during his college career, and even returned for his senior season. In the third round of the NFL draft, the back shared an emotional moment with his family after he was selected by his home state’s club.

A couple of current backs took to Twitter to congratulate Connor on hearing his named called.

The NFL just gained a new warrior.
