One of the best parts of the Olympics is the opportunity for completely new faces to emerge into a spotlight that can immediately cast them as a global celebrity.
It could be considered the biggest stage in all of sports and every year someone new emerges. For Canadians, the newest star is Penny Oleksiak. For Singaporeans and Americans, one of the many faces to emerge at this Olympics is the man who beat Michael Phelps to win a gold medal, Joesph Schooling.
Schooling however, wasn’t a new face to everyone. One college student out of Texas knew that she had seen his face before, on Tinder.
She says that it is her greatest accomplishment to have matched with him, but on the other end, has some regrets about not messaging him back.
Although he is from Singapore, but they both attend the University of Texas at Austin, which is how they were able to match.
We're sure she'll get over it. Plus who knows, the Tweet has almost 40,000 retweets already, so it's possible that Joesph sees it and messages her again. This could be just the beginning of their love story.
