Hockey fans know how tough the players are.

Nothing really keeps them out of games, not cuts from skate blades or getting hit by a puck in the face.

Sunday night in Game 3 of the Columbus and Pittsburgh series, rookie Zach Werenski proved how tough hockey players are once again after he was on the receiving end of a puck to the face that left him bloodied.

An injury like that should keep someone out for at least the rest of the game, but Werenski returned and sported a nasty looking gash on his face along with a couple of black eyes.

As you can see from the pictures, though, Werenski eye was in pretty bad shape, and after returning to the game, he didn't play in OT.

The Penguins ended up winning the game in the extra frame to take a 3-0 series lead.

Still, Zach is one tough guy to have returned to the game, even if he missed OT.

After the game, Werenski showed of his eye that was swollen shut and the rest of the damage done to his face.
