Everyone continues to wait for the date of the Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather bout to get released, and it turns out they actually had one planned.

Following the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Canelo Alvarez bout on Saturday night, Gennady “GGG” Golovkin entered the ring and announced that he would be fighting Canelo later this year on September 16, 2017.

According to UFC president Dana White, that was the day they had planned for Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

We’ll never know if they actually had that date planned for the McGregor-Mayweather bout or not, but that fight is getting a lot closer since McGregor welcomed his son to the world this weekend.

Dee and Junior are doing great everyone! Thank you for all the kind words, I am one proud and blessed Daddy ❤️

Now we just have to sit back and wait for the announcement, because it’s pretty obvious it’s going to go down at some point in the near future.
