For the first time in his CFL career, quarterback Darian Durant will not be rocking the Roughriders green and white this CFL season.

This past offseason, Durant’s rights were traded to the Montreal Alouettes, who wasted no time signing the veteran to a three-year contract extension.

With Mark’s CFL Week and the CFL Combine taking place in Regina this year, Durant made his return to the place he called home for more than 10 years earlier than he expected, but he left fans with a heartfelt message and nothing but love.

Durant won the Grey Cup twice during his time with the Roughriders, including one on their home field at the 101st Grey Cup back in 2013.

The 34-year-old will look to get back into his old form in his first season with the Als, and he’ll have a few weapons to help him out, including newly acquired Ernest Jackson.
