Chicago Blackhawks Scott Darling and Ryan Hartman grew up in the Chicago area, so they’re pretty familiar with some of the hot spots around town that are best play to play pick-up hockey.
Recently, the Blackhawks duo hit the streets of Chicago to find some kids following in their footsteps, playing some pick-up hockey of their own. They didn’t just surprise the kids, though, they took part in their hockey games and declared their spots official practice rinks of the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks are currently promoting their ‘Our Rinks’ campaign, which shows young hockey fans that you don’t need a sheet of ice to play hockey and that there are many different locations where you can play the game.
While it was just another day for Darling and Hartman, you can bet these are moments the kids are going to remember for the rest of their lives.
