Sometimes in life, we're forced to make the most out of unpleasant situations, and in those moments, how you respond is the most important thing.

For example, the University of Denver's men's hockey team recently travelled to Kalamazoo to take on Western Michigan, but their sticks got left behind.

Fortunately for the team, the game wasn't being played on the day they arrived, but they still had to practice to get prepared for the game.

Rather than just calling practice which is one way to respond to the situation, the team hilariously practiced without sticks to get ready for the game.

Now that is making the most out of an unpleasant situation.

Relay races, throwing pucks at goalies and shooting without sticks seems like a ton of fun, and by the looks of it the players enjoyed the stick free practice.

Thankfully the twigs arrived and the players got a chance to practice with them the morning of the game.

The Pioneers dropped their game against the Broncos 3-0, but Saturday they have a chance to earn a series split.
