All hockey players understand what a normal breakout is and isn't. Some teams tend to use a conventional type, while others like to think outside of the box.

The iconic Mighty Ducks, for example, who starred in three Disney movies, were the first to demonstrate the legendary 'flying V'.

During their IIHF World Championship game against Switzerland, Finland executed a similar breakout, however if anything, it looked more like an ‘I’. Take a look.

The crazy thing is that it actually worked. As you can see, all five Swiss defenders were skating backwards, likely puzzled by what was occurring. Even TSN hockey analyst Ray Ferraro claimed he had never seen anything like it!

Perhaps teams will pick up on Finland’s weird approach for next season, as it looked pretty tough to stop them during their charge down the ice.
