November hasn’t been kind so far to the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings.

Since the 9th, LA has dropped five of their last six games, scoring two or less goals in five of those contests. Their most recent loss came tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights, who now trail the Kings by a single point in the Pacific Division.

With his team trailing with over a minute left in regulation, defenceman Drew Doughty could only watch rookie Alex Tuch seal the game with an empty-netter. Following the marker, Doughty proceeded to open his body up towards the net and went full Barry Bonds with his stick on the post.

Honestly, that was a pretty beautiful swing, it's just too bad that a stick worth hundreds of dollars was used for it.

It’s hard to fault the defenceman, as such expressions at least prove how much he hates losing. Winning has become a culture in LA, after the team captured Stanley Cups in both 2012 and 2014, so dropping five of six clearly is just unacceptable. At least he had the brains to take his anger out on the post, considering some players in the past have chosen to actually swing their stick at an opponent instead.

The Kings will face the high-flying Jets on Wednesday, so ending their current slide won’t get any easier in their next contest. For the sake of the sticks, LA really needs to turn things around soon.
