If there was one person that shined brighter than the rest of his peers at the NHL awards Wednesday night, it was Connor McDavid.

The 20-year-old took home three awards (the first three of his career) and cemented his place as one of the top three players in the NHL today.

McDavid won the Art Ross, the Ted Lindsay and the Hart, and if that wasn't enough he was also named the cover athlete for NHL 18.

In short, the NHL awards were all about McDavid and the players watching the show noticed that, too.

In fact, Matt Dumba of the Wild actually suggested a new name for the NHL awards during McDavid's incredible night and we're fans of it to say the least.

The #McJeezyAwards will be a must watch each and every year, especially considering McDavid plans on improving his game.

We imagine Leafs fans are hoping their own young superstar Auston Matthews follows in McDavid's footsteps and owns the awards show next season.

Of course, if he doesn't the Toronto faithful would probably take a Cup instead.
