The Erie Otters haven’t been around for the longest time compared to some of the other OHL teams, but they’ve had a decent amount of current and former NHLers go through the system in their 20-year history.

For many years, Brad Boyes held the Otters’ record as the all-time leading scorer with 309 points in 233 games. Connor McDavid would have shattered Boyes’ record, but he ended up playing 67 less OHL games than Boyes and finished with 285 points in 166 games.

On Saturday, the Otters saw a new player take over the franchise’s all-time points leader category for the first time in 15 years. Arizona Coyotes prospect Dylan Strome scored a goal and added three assists in the team's 9-1 victory over the Guelph Storm to move into sole possession of first place on the franchise’s all-time points list.

Strome’s 10th goal of the year in just his 14th game is what sealed the deal for him as the franchise’s new all-time leading scorer. In 198 OHL games, the 19-year-old has scored 102 goals and totaled 311 points.
