You’ve most likely never heard of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) before, but it’s the top hockey league in the United Kingdom and is consists of twelve teams with representation from all four nations of the UK.

Last season, the Sheffield Steelers ended up winning the championship and started off their run to the finals with a first round victory over the Nottingham Panthers. The two teams recently went head-to-head in a rematch of last year’s first round series and the Panthers ended up getting redemption.

Despite going down 1-0 early on in the game, the Panthers got back in it near the end of the opening period thanks to a beautiful goal from Robert Farmer.

That goal was Farmer’s fourth of the season and is easily one of the nicest goals we’ve seen this year out of any professional hockey league.

The 26-year-old’s goal seemed to spark something in his teammates as they went on to score two quick goals in the second period.

Although they gave up the lead late in the third period, the Panthers managed to pull off a 4-3 shootout victory over the reigning EIHL champions.
