Not many people knew who Eric Thames was coming into this year’s MLB season. Now, every baseball fan knows his name.

Through his first 21 games with the Milwaukee Brewers, the 30-year-old first baseman has 27 hits for 11 home runs, 19 RBI and is batting .370 through 73 at-bats.

Can’t tame Thames. @ericthames now has ELEVEN home runs! 🔥🔥🔥

Since Thames only had 21 home runs in 633 previous at-bats and is now the MLB leader in home runs after Wednesday night’s action, you can bet that Thames has already been given his fair share of drug tests.

After getting his second surprise drug test in less than a week, Thames gave a fantastic answer when he was asked about the test and his current streak.

After his time with the Seattle Mariners came to an end after the 2012 season, Thames spent the next couple of years moving around different leagues at the Triple-A level. After a short stint in Triple-A, Thames headed overseas to play one season in the Venezuelan Winter League and three in the Korean Baseball Organization.

While Thames was never really a power hitter during his early stint in Major League Baseball, he proved that he has the ability to crush balls during his time with the NC Dinos in the KBO.

During his three seasons in Korea, Thames hit 124 home runs, drove in 382 runs and stole 64 bases while batting well over .300 every season.
