Every NHL team will be on the wrong side of a blowout a few times over the course of the season.  On Monday night, the Senators were that team as they lost 8-3 at home to Montreal and their best player, Erik Karlsson, was a -6 on the night.

Ahead of Ottawa's game against Detroit Thursday night, Karlsson was asked about the -6 and he had some fun with it in the perfect way.

(Translation: About his -6 Monday, he said "I'd like to have such a golf score.")

We all would love to have that score in golf instead of on the ice, but sometimes that's just the way things go.

On the bright side, Karlsson and the Senators rebounded nicely defeating the Red Wings 3-1 and the Sens captain finished with two assists and a +2 rating.
