Space Jam is one of the greatest sports movies of all time, partly because of how well it ties into reality.

It uses Michael Jordan’s stint in baseball to make sense of the plot of the movie and puts a twist on the reason for his return to the game of basketball. As kids, we basically just assumed that was what actually happened but we didn’t think too much about the logistics of that possibility.

Well, one person thought a lot about the logistics of Space Jam, specifically the timeline of the movie.

Recently, ESPN’s SportsCenter posted a graphic about the date that the Monstars lost to the Tune Squad and one Facebook commenter had a problem with their fact checking. He went on a long rant to prove his point – it’s incredible.

This man was on a mission. It seems a little farfetched to think that Jordan was gone for several months in Looney Tunes Land. We think there would be a much bigger commotion if one of the greatest players on the planet disappeared from the earth for several months.

Still, we can’t put up much an argument with the rest of his statement. Based on the amount of research he’s done into this we’ll just blame the Space Jam story telling for not properly capturing the mass panic in his time missing. Or, maybe we just shouldn’t take a movie where this happened too seriously.
