Remember the name Viktor Fasth? It might ring a bell.

The Swede participated in 63 NHL games between the Anaheim Ducks and Edmonton Oilers between 2012-2015 before eventually moving to the KHL to play for CSKA Moscow. Today, he is a goaltender for the Swedish Hockey League’s Växjö Lakers HC, and made headlines recently for all of the wrong reasons.

During a Championship Hockey League match against the Bili Tygri Liberec, Fasth attempted to play the puck but accidentally hit his teammate Oliver Bohm in the leg. Afterwards, the goalie could only watch the biscuit slide between the pipes.

Yikes.

These plays happen every so often, sometimes at more costly times than others. Who could forget when Mar-Andre Fleury scored on himself at the 2004 World Junior Championships against the Americans?

Fasth ultimately had the last laugh, as his team managed to put together a 6-3 victory. Hopefully this served as a lesson to be a bit more careful next time when playing the puck from the crease.
