The Arizona Coyotes are by far the worst team in the NHL right now and that sucks because they have a ton of talented players on their roster that have bright futures ahead of them.
Goaltending has been the biggest issue thus far for the Coyotes and the goalie that has the lone win for the team is the one they just traded for, Scott Wedgewood.
Meanwhile, Mike Smith (the longtime Arizona goalie the team traded to the Flames this summer) is thriving in Calgary, and he's the Coyotes' highest-paid goalie right now.
The Coyotes retained 25% of Smith's salary when they traded him (just over $1.4 million) and the only goalies on Arizona's roster making $1 million or more are Louis Domingue ($1.05 million) and Antti Raanta ($1 million).
The Coyotes are 1-12-1 this season while Smith is 7-5 with a 2.19 goals against average this season with the Flames, so they're paying him a nice amount of money to win games for Calgary.
In other words, nothing is going right for the Coyotes this season, but at least they have Clayton Keller!
