The Vegas Golden Knights haven't played an NHL game yet, but by all accounts they are winning off the ice.

From a social media perspective, the Golden Knights already have one of the best, if not the best Twitter account in the league.

The team's account is very interactive and funny, and hockey fans love that combination.

Vegas isn't just winning in the social media world, though.  According to the team's owner Bill Foley, they're also having a ton of success in regards to ticket revenue in the NHL.

Foley recently spoke with Mark Ewing of Forbes and told him something about the team's ticket revenue that may shock a lot of fans:

"We have sold 13,500 of the 17,000 seats. We sold all the suites—we held back two suites to bring in guests. All the opera boxes on the third floor are nearly gone. Game day ticket sales are the most important thing in the NHL because everyone wants to see a game live."

"We are number five, six or seven in terms of ticket revenue in the league. That’s how good Las Vegas has been to us.  Edmonton has more revenue in their brand-new arena. The Rangers, Toronto, Chicago Black Hawks, they’re all ahead of us. Montreal is right with us. We have more revenue than the Flyers, Penguins, the Boston Bruins. Most of our tickets are multi-year. The lower bowl is three to ten years.”

Obviously the claim is shocking and hockey fans are a bit skeptical about how true it is, especially when you consider the teams Foley said the Golden Knights were ahead of in ticket revenue.

That said, one thing is certain, the team has had a ton of success selling tickets and getting people in Vegas excited enough to commit to seasons tickets.

Back in September of 2016, the team announced they had sold out all 16,000 season tickets made available.

The hard part now, though, will be keeping fans coming back year after year, especially if Vegas' inaugural season isn't a great one on the ice.
