While the NHL offseason inches closer to training camp, players are still sharing their favourite summer activities, as they gear up towards the upcoming season. Some show off their unique workouts and training sessions, while others give glimpses into their personal lives. For some, choosing to spend time with their favourite pets is the best form of summertime satisfaction – literally making it the dog days of summer.

Hampus Lindholm is a noted  dog admirer, and the Ducks defenceman officially introduced the newest Ducks fan on his Instagram account on Sunday night. The pup fit perfectly into Lindholm’s skate, making for an adorable picture.

The puppy appears to be a Dachshund, and it may’ve needed a bath to wash out the potential smelly odor afterwards.

The nameless new puppy is Lindholm’s second dog. His other dog, Bo, a yellow labrador, has shown up on his Instagram account several times before.

Even though they’re not ducks, the two dogs can do their best “quack quack” impression with a good “woof woof.” No word on whether they have their own Instagram accounts yet. With Lindholm being a mainstay on the Ducks blueline, there’s serious potential for some Instagram fame with the canines when you factor in the California sunsets and all.

Lindholm is recovering from shoulder surgery from an injury suffered during the Stanley Cup playoffs and isn't expected to be ready for opening night. There aren't too many other remedies other than hanging out with your pups as you slowly recover from a torn-labrum.
