The social media stratosphere has produced some pretty hilarious and quirky trends in the form of hashtags over the years.

Some are for great causes, like the #ALSIceBucketChallenge, which helped raise around  $200 million for Lou Gehrig’s disease. There have been some peculiar ones, like the Kyle Jenner lip challenge, or the plank challenge.

If you’re a fan of sweat dunks and neighbourhood shenanigans, then you’ll enjoy the latest internet craze.

The #DriveByDunkChallenge has quickly become one of the most viral fads of the summer and has jumped to the top of internet challenges.

It’s a pretty simple concept: Drive around neighbourhoods with your buddies, throw on a catchy beat, get your smartphone ready and find innocent, unsuspecting hoops to do drive-by dunks on.

Instagram user “t.currie” was the culprit of this brilliant idea.

We like this one the best, though.

Memo to home owners: if you own a basketball hoop, it’s probably not safe, and please don’t call the cops.

It’s summertime, after all, and most of these teenagers are just bored out of their minds looking for something fun to do.  Just be glad they aren’t playing nicky nickyy nine doors, or throwing water balloons at your car.
