If anyone knows the game of basketball, it’s Hall of Fame guard Jerry West. On top of winning a championship as a player, West has also won multiple titles with both the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors as an executive. To simply put it, this guy knows talent when he sees it.
When asked about MVP candidate Russell Westbrook’s athleticism, West compared it to the GOAT’s, AKA Michael Jordan.
“He might be better in terms of his athletic ability.” What an incredible, and rare compliment to dish. None of this is a secret, but to actually hear it from a former great is pretty remarkable.
If Westbrook can manage to capture some championships in the coming years, it will only enhance his chances of being mentioned in the same conversation as Jordan, and other legends more and more in the future.
