Aleksi Saarela is a Finnish centerman who was drafted 89th overall in the 3rd round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers. The 20-year-old was dealt to the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eric Staal deal back on February 28th, and now he's currently on a loan with Lukko, a Finnish hockey team in the Liiga. Through 21 games he has registered 5 goals and 9 points, and his latest goal might just be his best one yet.

Even Saarela seemed a little shocked that he scored, considering he pretty much just blindly threw it towards the net and hoped for the best to come from it. There was certainly no harm in trying that this time, as the puck ended up beating the goalie right under the crossbar for one of the nicest backhand goals we have ever seen. The Hurricanes have shocked a few people this year with random offensive outbursts and they could have more on the way if they plan on calling up Saarela anytime soon.
