Sports can be an inspiration for many people and that group includes artists, who frequently combine their skill set and hobbies to create.

We always like to feature artists that peak our interest, from ePoole to Pengellyink, and Hockey Reddit just turned us on to another new face on the scene. Seth Kumpf, an illustrator based out of Virginia is breathing some life back into the failed “Guardian Project” series from 2011.

He started with the first round and just yesterday updated his graphics for Round 2.

If you don’t remember the original Guardian Project, here are a couple samples from it.

Scrolling through Kumpfs’ Instagram, you can see hockey illustrations sprinkled throughout the time that he has shared his work online, but these are definitely the most in depth you’ll find.

He’s even started to work on some pop culture-hockey fusion pieces as well.

Hopefully he continues to push these out throughout the playoffs, because they’re awesome.
