Denis Shapovalov is off to the fourth round at the US Open after Kyle Edmund was forced to retire in the fourth set down 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, 1-0  to the 18-year-old Canadian.

Down two sets to one, Edmund was forced abandon the match because of a neck issue at Arthur Asche Stadium, and received treatment in what appeared to be a painful injury. Shapovalov is off to the Round of 16 and will face Pablo Carreno Busta with the winner heading to the quarter-finals.
