Kristers Gudļevskis was selected 124th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and spent the past four seasons in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch.

After making just three appearances with the Lightning over the course of four seasons, Tampa Bay dealt the 25-year-old Latvian goalie to the New York Islanders this past summer and he ended up signing a one-year, two-way deal with the team less than two weeks later.

Joining a new team means getting a new mask for goalies and that’s exactly what Gudļevskis did as his very first Islanders-themed mask was unveiled over the weekend by David Gunnarsson.

The 2016 AHL All-Star dedicated the sides of his mask to the Islanders logo, just like he did with his Lightning mask, but switched it up on top by including the Islanders Fisherman logo that was used from 1995-1997.

Gudļevskis is currently playing for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL and picked up a 5-3 victory in his debut.
