December 19th, 2017 is a historic day for the Toronto Maple Leafs because on December 19th, 1917, the Toronto Arenas played the first game in the franchise's history.  Toronto lost the game 10-9 to the Montreal Wanderers, but they went on to win it all that season.

Ahead of the 1919-1920 season, though, the team changed their name to the Toronto St. Patricks and then again in 1926 to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Back to this season, though, because on December 19th, 100 years after the Arenas played the first game in franchise history, the Leafs will honour the team by playing on the same date and same time.

Furthermore, it looks like the Leafs will honour the Arenas by wearing the 1917 throwback uniforms.

Fans are convinced the team will be rocking the throwbacks because of the significance of the date and the tickets for that particular game.

In the past, the Leafs have honoured the Toronto St. Patricks and Leafs teams from the past by wearing throwback uniforms, but never have they done it for the Toronto Arenas.

It looks like that has a good chance of changing, however, on December 19th.
