Surprise, surprise! The Buffalo Sabres are already falling out of playoff contention.

The team hasn’t reached the postseason since 2011 and has amassed five consecutive losing seasons. After a 3-2 loss this afternoon to the San Jose Sharks at home, Buffalo dropped to 3-7-2. Only the Montreal Canadiens hold a weaker record within the Atlantic division at 2-7-1.

2015 second overall pick Jack Eichel has expressed his frustration over losing on multiple occasions, and today he took things to a new level. On his way to the dressing room, the American pulled a Bo Jackson and snapped his twig in half. Instead of using his head, Eichel wisely used his knee.

Warning: Language is not suitable for work.

Eichel has been one of  the few bright spots of what’s been a terrible campaign for newly appointed head coach Phil Housley and his guys. The Sabres currently sit 27th in goals for per game with 2.42 and 25th with 3.58 against.

Buffalo better figure things out soon or they’re going to risk losing thousands of dollars in broken sticks by season’s end.
