We love when players of any sport get asked something along the lines of "If you were commissioner for the day and could make one rule change to improve the game, what would it be?"

Ahead of the 2017-18 NHL season, ESPN's Emily Kaplan asked players to pretend to be commissioner and make a rule change, and the rule changes the game's brightest stars suggested were very interesting to say the least.

Reading through the rule changes, it became obvious that Jack Eichel's suggestion was probably the best, but it would never happen and hockey traditionalists might hate it:

Jack Eichel, C, Buffalo Sabres: No offside. Just hang down at the other end and wait for the puck to come there.

Again, this has less than a zero-percent chance of ever coming to fruition (no chance), but it would be fun to see if/how the game would change if this was ever implemented, even for one game.

If we've learned anything over the course of Eichel's young career, though, it's that he doesn't need a rule change like this to help him put the puck in the net.

The 20-year-old has 48 goals in 142 games and will only continue to improve with age.

Love this.
