Jamie Benn is only on pace to score 20 goals this season. While his points have dropped a little too, it’s no nearly as significant as his goal totals.

He has 10 goals and 25 assists for 35 points in 41 games. Last year, he scored 41 goals and 48 assists.

Obviously, with that kind of drop off, things can get pretty frustrating. Most people would point to his drop in shooting percentage and shots, but he may have a different reason, one that could cause both of those things. He seems to be unhappy with his sticks.

How do we know this? Well we’re speculating based on the Bo-Jackson-like treatment of his sticks last night.

This has to be some new kind of hat trick. Can we cross sports and name it the Bo Jackson Hat Trick? There is no player in all of sports as notorious for snapping their equipment like Bo Jackson. Who knows maybe if Benn keeps this up, Benn will have it named after him.

Either way, it’s never a hat trick you’ll be too happy with. It could probably be named after a goalie, they’re pretty notorious for losing their minds and snapping their sticks after a bad goal or game.
