The talk of the Toronto Blue Jays offseason so far has been free agents Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion, and their quest for new contracts. It's looking more and more like Encarnacion's time in Toronto has come to a close, but the latest on Bautista is Jays' general manager Ross Atkins and Bautista's agent Jay Alou remain in contact. If those two are still talking, it suddenly seems like a reunion in 2017 is not completely out of the question.
Since it's the offseason, and we're reading way too hard into every little clue we can get giving us information on whether Bautista will sign back with the club or not, the slugger happens to be back in Toronto. Bautista posted an image of himself Christmas shopping in Toronto on Saturday.
Toronto is clearly home for Bautista, and we imagine he would love to make something work to keep him in town for even longer than just the holiday season.
