On Saturday night at the Forks in Winnipeg, the 2017 Canada Games kicked off their festival. One of the artists to start things off was Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall, who performed for thousands.

After his performance, the four-time Juno Award winner wanted to wish all of the athletes luck before they began competing in the Canada Games.

To wish the athletes luck, Kardinal Offishall used a close friend of his, Nashville Predators defenceman P.K. Subban, as an example of one of the most determined people he knows.

We couldn’t help but love when Kardinal absolutely flipped out over Subban being only one game away from that championship. Subban got to Game 6 this past season, and will surely hope to make it to Game 7 next year… and maybe even win the Stanley Cup.

As for Subban, he was pretty appreciative when he came across Kardinal's kind words about him.
