Paul Pierce was selected 10th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 1998 NBA Draft and went on to play 15 seasons with the Celtics before making quick stops in Brooklyn, Washington and Los Angeles.

The Inglewood, California native just wrapped up his final season in the NBA with his hometown Clippers and it wasn’t as memorable as he had hoped.

However, the Clippers and the city of Los Angeles wanted to send ‘The Truth’ out on a high note, so they put together an incredible tribute video for the 10-time NBA All-Star and had it narrated by Compton, California’s Kendrick Lamar.

As Kendrick’s ‘The Heart Part 4’ plays underneath the video, the rapper reads Pierce a heartfelt thank-you letter put together by his peers and the city of Los Angeles.

Although Pierce didn’t get to accomplish much in the league during his time with the Clippers, the 2008 NBA champion did a lot for his hometown throughout his career and will continue to do whatever he can to help make a positive change.
